The pendant was originally an antique stick pin (circa 1870 1890) transformed by removing the pin stem and adding a 14k gold jump ring bail. The piece measures 0. 8 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 0. 35 inches wide. The front is in good condition; however, there is a hole in the top layer of nacre on the reverse of the pearl.
