Every time I paint an oriental poppy it serves as a tribute to my mom – her gardening prowess was remarkable

progress and growth has done away with the garden but I take comfort in the knowledge that it lives on in my painting

Occasionally I will spy one hanging out in my yard always a treat recently I had a stare down with one of them out my kitchen window while he sat on my wall peeking in.
