Made of silk and other woven fabric, the backside is white with dragons and a floral pattern while the front is also white with an embroidered design of a Japanese phoenix in white, gold, green and purple. Uchishiki is mainly used by followers of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism on the upper table (Maejyoku) and the front table (Uwajyoku)
