Jonata, Sangre Vintage:2005 Sweet Cabernet fruit but slightly

Jonata, Sangre Vintage:2005 Sweet Cabernet fruit but slightlyMatt Dees is the winemaker on a property originally invested in by Charles Banks and Stan Kroenke (in the same stable as Screaming Eagle at one stage). Blackish purple. Not very balanced. Sweetness at the start and then a hot chewy end. Liquorice. Fades a bit fast. A bit fossilised. Tastes as though it hasnt evolved for while. Is this an attempt at a Guigal La La style? Not for me at the moment.

Description

Sweet Cabernet fruit but slightly unformed

sophisticated and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess good punch while offering excellent length on the balanced finish where the only nit is an unexpected touch of warmth

I tasted Artadis 2010s and 2011s

Champonnets is always better in very warm and/or hot vintages and 2018 is a fine example of that
