大島紬の特徴である絣で特徴的に表現されています。

山麓に描かれるのは流れる小川や橋、松などの風景で、小川は絶えず流れ続けることから「厄を流す」、松は人間の寿命よりはるかに長く生きる木であることから「長寿」「威厳」の意味を持ちます。

室町時代より祝言曲として親しまれてきました。
