This particular example was produced by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (or SOM) Design in the USA in 1958. The table is made entirely of lacquered wood. This piece came from the collection of Fern Simon in Chicago. The table came directly from the Inland Steel Building. As the story goes (and as is written and documented), the Block family stayed at the Istanbul Hilton
