A Victorian 9ct Gold & Turquoise Buckle Brooch, c1860 this jar was recovered fromA Victorian 9ct yellow gold buckle brooch, finely engraved and set with twelve natural cabochon turquoise, dating to circa 1860, potential for an earlier origin around 1850. The reverse fitted with a pin and hook clasp, together with a suspension ring allowing the piece to be worn as a pendant. The union of the buckle motif and turquoise is emblematic of love, fidelity and prosperity, a popular symbolic design in mid Victorian jewellery. Unmarked and
