Large Red and Gold Shanxi Armoire Planter Each bucket varies slightly -Shanxi, circa 1880 Dating from the late nineteenth century, this elegant cabinet originates from Shanxi province in northern China and is finished in a rich, warm red lacquer that has aged beautifully over time. The surface of the doors is subtly decorated with traces of traditional landscape scenes, including pagodas, trees and mountains, now softly worn with age to reveal a wonderful depth of colour and texture. The outer frames and bottom apron are
